Offered for the first time in May 2006, at Coys’ Monaco auction, this Dino (chassis number 6748) had an estimate of €87,000-102,000 but remained unsold.
It was put up for sale again five months later (Padua auction) and sold for €85,000 (against an estimate of €90,000-110,000).
In May 2007, the same car was offered again by Coys at Brands Hatch, on an estimate of £68,000-£75,000, yet failed to find a new buyer.
This month, the Maastricht auction included the same Dino, with an estimate of € 250,000-290,000. The highest offer, at €225,000 was not enough and was not accepted.
Sometimes sellers’ expectations do not match market demand, even within a healthy growth in value.
