This Year’s Belgravia Classic Car Show was Bigger and Better Than Ever
On Sunday 23rd June 2019, the 96 Club celebrated its 40th anniversary at this year’s Belgravia Classic Car Show, the premier classic car event in London. This special celebration brought together over 250 classic and vintage cars in Belgrave Square, for what was a superb day. As always, the calibre of the classic and vintage cars on show was excellent, with 96 Club and Tigose members and their friends attending in good numbers
There were displays of cars of all ages, shapes and sizes in the Inner Circle, East Garden, West Garden and the South Garden, along with the new Outer Ring. This was set aside for display cars and doubled the number of cars on show.

Some of the Highlights
With the large number of cars on display, there were many highlights, of which we have picked out just a few.
On the East Lawn
There were quite a few stand-outs on the East Lawn, including the very rare MG M Type Sportsman’s Coupe, a Morris 10/6 Tourer and an Austin Seven Tourer.
Also on the East Lawn was 96 Club organiser and Waterloo Classics Club founder Darren Sullivan Vince’s BMW 502 saloon. This rare car has undergone an extensive restoration over the past six years, and certainly looked the part.
Also worthy of mention was a 1930 Austin 7 White Rabbit Racing Monoposto, created from the burnt out remains of a Boyd Carpenter Special awhich raced at Le Mans in 1937 and 1939 under the L’Ecuire Lapin Blanc, the translation of which is Team White Rabbit.
On the Inner Circle
As ever, the Inner Circle, featured the stars of the show, including the exceptionally rare Rolls Royce Phantom 1. This 18.6ft long motor is the last remaining 2/4-seater Rolls Royce with this body type.

Peter Bolta was awarded Most Original Car by 96 Club and TIGOSE founder, Michael Scott, for his exceptional 1984 Lotus Esprit Turbo.
All in all a memorable day. Here’s to next year.
